Mwenezi Development Training Centre could not operate without the generosity of our resource partners, for which we are very grateful.
We have had a long partnership with resource partner NORAD of Norway, who have funded a significant part of MDTC's budget since 1991.
Tools For Self Reliance, a UK based charitable organisation, provides tool kits to trainees and, with funding from The EU and Tudor Trust, is financing a tool making and refurbishment workshop recently built at the Centre.
DED, a German development organisation, is supporting our community projects.
HIVOS of Holland gave extensive assistance over the Centre's first 10 years. Other organisations which have given valuable support in the past are Plan International, Africa 2000 and Dutch charity SNV. A group of individuals in Holland led by former volunteer worker Ellen Michaelis has also given generously to cyclone rehabilitation projects.
MDTC enjoys working partnerships with a wide range of institutions and organisations. At district level, MDTC works closely with the Mwenezi Rural District Council, hosting many of the training workshops of the council and actively participating in various council development activities.
MDTC networks with other development organisations and is a member of the National Association of NGOs in Zimbabwe, Pelum Zimbabwe (Participatory Ecological Land Use Management) and the Environmental Liason Forum, and is the local representative of the Artisan Network. The Centre is accredited with the Government's Technical Support Unit to participate in Land Reform and Resettlement.
The Centre is also able to share resources with organisations working in the district. These have included the UNDP, ZDCP, Africare, Campfire, Care International, Christian Care and various Zimbabwe government programmes including CAP, PAAP, SEDAP and Social Forestry.
